A trend that I’m sure we’ll see a lot of this spring and summer is pastels, and since this is the topic for this week’s challenge, I thought it would also give me a chance to show off a product from Makeup Revolution! You can see the previous blog posts for the Bloggers Do It Better topics here. I absolutely love the pastel trend, it’s so pretty and actually matches my hair since it’s now faded back to blonde in some place (like raspberry ripple ice cream!). But enough about me, onto the review!
Recently I purchased a haul from Makeup Revolution, I plan to write about it all soon but for today I’m reviewing a nail varnish in the shade ‘Cool Days’. If you haven’t heard of Makeup Revolution, where have you been! They’re very big at the moment, and my Twitter news feed is always full of buzz from the new budget beauty brand for 2014.
‘Cool Days’ is a bright mint shade, perfect for spring. This nail polish could also act as a dupe for the Barry M nail polish in Sugar Apple. I applied it on my bare nail with about three coats, although it’s got a super quick drying time so building up the colour isn’t an issue. It was a bit streaky at first but once more coats are applied, and taking the drying time into consideration, I’m really impressed with this £1 polish.
There are over 40 shades so loads to choose from, and at £1 each they’re a real bargain. It’s really exciting to have a new brand on the scene, and I really love the products so far. I’ve managed to find some good dupes for high end products that I can’t wait to share with you! I’m really excited to try out more from the range, and I’m happy I chose this polish because it just looks so gorgeous on my nails.
