I’ve found it really difficult to know how to get back into blogging. I haven’t really posted much about my personal life online but I feel I need to just write it here so that I can move on and return to my usual posts.
The last you heard from me was when I got engaged and moved in with my partner. Soon after, we adopted a kitten called Tilly, the most gorgeous black cat I’ve ever seen. She was a tiny little thing who would often curl up to sleep under my chin, and nibbled on my earlobes – cheeky! I still remember when Laura helped me bring her home and settled her in. After three weeks she was having problems breathing, we took her to the emergency vet but sadly she didn’t make it. Funny thing is though, the vet told us that Tilly was actually a boy!

I was absolutely heartbroken with the loss of Tilly, and although I said that I wouldn’t want to get another cat for a while, I needed something to fill that paw sized hole in my heart.
Along came Lola.

A stunning ball of fluff, with a huge personality for such a small animal. She’s a Persian X BSH, with the most mesmerising eyes and velvety ears. I fell in love with her the very first time I saw her, and she soon became my partner in crime. But as cute as she is, she is a tinker. From dunking her paws into your drink and flicking it up the walls, to sticking her head under running taps.
So, you’re probably thinking by now “okay Frankie, enough about cats just tell us where you’ve been”.
Just before Christmas, my fiancé and I broke up. I’m not going to go into it because there’s no need to, and I wouldn’t even be writing it on here except for the reason that people still think I’m engaged. 6 months down the line and it’s a little awkward when people ask why I’m on dating sites, as I never posted publicly about the breakup. We’ve both made our peace with it and moved on, and I only wish the best for him.
I moved into a temporary house share, and soon after Lola went to go and live with my parents, while Zoey the hedgehog went to stay with Laura. I felt like I’d lost everything I ever cared about, and things were frankly pretty shit during those few months. Money was, and still is tight. Sometimes I find myself digging to the back of the cupboard just trying to find anything that isn’t soup, or rice and beans!
I’ve moved house twice since Christmas – so that’s three times in the past year. It became the norm to see all my belongings boxed up, but thankfully I’m now settled in a lovely house, with a great housemate.
I’m starting to feel happier after a rough couple of months, and it’s nice just to be able to focus on myself.
