That’s right, Collection are bringing you four brand new palettes to try! I managed to purchase two of them early, so keep reading to find out exactly what I thought of them. The two palettes featured in this post are the #ConcealAndLightLikeAPro and the #FaceTheDay palette, however don’t worry because I’ll also be talking about the other two further down as well!
#FaceTheDay (£6.99) is an essential palette that consists of a highlighter, blush, bronzer, and four powder eyeshadows in shimmery neutral shades. My only disappointment is that the palette didn’t come with a brush to apply the eyeshadows – but then again, when do we ever use the free brush inside these sort of things?! My top pick from this palette is the blush, it’s a gorgeous soft pink and blends well into the skin.
The #ConcealAndLightLikeAPro palette (5.99) consists of eight cream concealers to conceal, highlight, and brighten. I’ve never tried the whole colour correction thing before, so I was pleasantly surprised to not only find out that these are all a delight to apply, but they work beautifully! A quick low down for those that might not know what the different shades do – the yellow shade brightens dark circles, purple revives dull skin, green neutralises redness, the highlighter allows you to sculpt and highlight features, and concealer covers blemishes and imperfections. Although the concealer shades are a tad too dark for those with pale skin, you could actually use these to assist you with contouring. My personal favourite that I can see myself using a lot is the green shade to correct redness, and this palette even includes a mirror which is very handy.
The two other palettes not pictured are the #BlushAndGlow (£4.99) and the #YourStyleYourMood (£5.99). The #BlushAndGlow quad includes a matte bronzer, matte pink blush, shimmery pink blush, and a neutral highlighter. The super soft powders are easy to apply and blend easily on to the skin, giving you flawless cheekbones and a beautifully radiant complexion. The #YourStyleYourMood palette provides a selection of nude, brown, and plum eyeshadow shades. Choose from two matte neutrals or eight shimmery shades to create the ultimate on-trend eye look!
Although I do like the incorporation of social media into these products through using a hashtag, some of the longer name are a bit of a mouthful to say (and type!). That being said, I’m really impressed with the quality of product you get inside, and the packaging itself although may be cardboard, is very lightweight and boasts beautiful gold lettering.
The new Collection Cosmetics Palettes will be available from Boots from 14th October.
