Review: Benefit Eye Cream “It’s Potent!”

Today I’ll be reviewing Benefit’s Eye Cream called “It’s Potent!”. I bought this a while ago but I still use it as and when I need it. So in the following pictures it obviously wont be showing a full pot of eye cream.

Background Information
Your eyes can’t keep a secret…they’re the first to show signs of age & stress. It’s potent! eye cream fades dark circles & helps smooth fine lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes. Contains a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity & firmness, a blend of hydrating botanical extracts and loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage

Benefit’s packaging never fails, it’s so sweet and I love the cork patterned design on the lid against the cool green blue of the glass bottle. It’s super easy to open too, just one twist of the lid and it opens!

However for others, issues may be that as there is no tool to get the cream out with so may find it unsanitary. Personally it doesn’t really bother me, however due to the weight of the product, it can be difficult to bring if travelling.

Colour and texture

When the cream is scooped out and applied, it melts like butter and absorbs so quickly into the skin. There is no residual stickiness as well, it is very lush and feels lovely and silky.

After Blending
Before Blending

As you can see from the picture, it has disappeared into the top of my hand with ease. This just took some light patting, and then I’m left with soft and hydrated skin.

Just twist open the lid, dip your finger in, take some cream out and pat it under your eye down to the top of your cheekbones, and upwards to your temple and upper eyelid. Most people usually just apply it under the eye, however eye creams are for all-round eye area protection. Just be careful not to get it too close to the actual eye itself, as from experience your eye will start to water!

Does it really reduce dark circles?
When I first bought this, I used it once in the morning and again before I went to bed. I was determined to lose the panda eyes. I love the texture of this product and just how quickly it settled in without me having to wait before applying makeup, but actually for me it made absolutely no difference to my dark circles. So now I only use it when I need to wake up my eyes in the morning.

Would I buy again?
Bottom line no. Whilst I have long given up on my dark circles around my eyes, I would still like to hope that a product lives up to it’s description. Though this one feels lovely and sinks in wonderfully to my eye area, I do not feel that the price is justified.

Overall Rating 5/10

Have you tried this product before, and did it reduce your dark circles? If you know of a different product that you believe would work better than this one for me, don’t be shy to comment!
