I’m going to go ahead and say it, losing weight is hard. It can be very difficult to maintain your goal weight/size without inputting a bit of effort. I’m not one for diets as I’m very much a foodie, but I do believe in that everything in moderation is the route to a healthy and happy lifestyle.
I recently invested in a Fitbit which allows me to keep track of number of steps I do, the distance, etc. Although there’s very much room for improvement (I’m not the only one who goes into sloth mode on their days off, right?), it’s a real insight to my daily activities and has proved itself very useful. Not to mention there are also options to compete against each other to earn badges and trophies, plus being able to cheer your friends and see how they’re getting on.
Comparison can be the best thing for you or the worst. It can either motivate you immensely and help you hit your targets, or ultimately do the opposite and potentially make you quit. We’ve all heard this a thousand times, but everyone’s body is different! What may work for you might not for others, and vice versa. Sometimes it’s important just to focus on yourself, however engaging with others trying to lose weight and encouraging each other might just be the support you all need.
The most important point to make is that you will not see results straight away. By cutting out chocolate for a week or two, or exercising for a few days although may be the foundation for what could be the route to weight loss, it is something you have to sustain for longer for it to actually affect your body.
Following on from my previous fitness post ‘Working out at home with Blogilates‘, you also need to make sure you are dressed the part. Although you are not leaving your home to exercise, you still need breathable clothing and sturdy footwear to work out effectively. Let’s face it, getting sweaty in your pjs just doesn’t sound pleasant! Courtesy of New Look, these sports clothes are the perfect fitness wear if you fancy a trip to the gym, a quick run, or if you’re like me, a good workout at home!
